Ian Atkinson

Ian Jeffrey Atkinson, 22, Rockford, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, in his home. He was born in Rockford on February 27, 1991, the son of Jeffrey David Atkinson and Raquel Dawn Shosie. Ian loved music and enjoyed playing the drums and fishing.
Survived by his father, Jeff (Hope Byrd) Atkinson of Rockford and his mother, Raquel (Dennis Comolli, Jr.) Atkinson of Fort Myers, Florida; half-sister, Vera Atkinson of Woodstock; paternal grandmother, Patricia Atkinson of Rockford; maternal grandfather, Gregg (JoAnne) Shosie; paternal great-grandfather, Harry Atkinson of Centerville, Iowa; aunts, Jennifer (Boyce Copeland) Atkinson of Rockford and Renee (Jose) Malachowski; many cousins and his close friend, Larry Covarry. Predeceased by his paternal grandfather, David Atkinson; maternal grandmother, Shirley Shosie.
Memorial services will be at 7:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd with Reverend Dean Parker officiating. Visitation from 6:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
