Howard D. Lenox

Howard Lenox, 82, of Belvidere, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was born September 14, 1935, in Winnebago, Illinois, the son of Donald and Mary Olive (Kraus) Lenox. Howard graduated from Winnebago High School, class of 1953. He married the love of his life, Patricia Burns on October 10, 1959. Howard worked as a machinist and owned his own business for many years. Howard was a good man that took great pride in his home and restoring his antiques. He was a former board member of the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club and a member of St. James Catholic church in Belvidere. Howard enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and wood working. Most of all he cherished his time with his grandchildren. Howard will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Michael (Margaret) Lenox, Steve (Amanda) Lenox and Ann (Cory) Stolberg; grandchildren, Andrew (fiancée Kara McComb) Lenox, Erika (Jacob) Urbelis, Joseph (Corrine) Lenox, Rachel (Jamesson) Keys and Erin Lenox; great grandchildren, Halle Urbelis, Fiona and Elaine Keys; sisters, Carol Norem, Norma Warkentien, Lois Webb and Judy Kentner; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Gordon Lenox.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
