Howard A. Luse, 69, of Belvidere, died at 1:42 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He lived courageously with multiple myeloma and peritoneal dialysis for six years. He was born on November 26, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Clark and Mabel Luse. He married Jeanne Wagor in Central City, Iowa on July 9, 1960. Howard, a Graduate of Iowa State University, was employed at Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere for 20 years retiring in 1998. He served in the United States Army in military intelligence. He had an avid interest in tractor and automotive restoration and was a member of Northern Illinois Steam Power Club of Sycamore. He was a ham radio operator, call sign N9FTY, and a support driver for RAGBRAI, the Iowa bicycle tour, for several years. Howard is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Ronald (Christine) Luse of Marion, IA and Michael (Sherri) Luse of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Deirdre, Aidan, Reddyn, Declan, Joshua, Jeremy, Ashley, and Jessica; sister, Eleanor Hagen of Blairstown, IA; brothers, Dick Luse Of Coggon, IA and David (Gale) Luse of Cedar Rapids, IA; sisters-in-law, Margaret Luse of Minneapolis, MN and Deloris Luse of Cedar Rapids, IA; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, John and Ed.   A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road, Rockford, with the Rev. Dr. John OLane of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church officiating. There will be a visitation from 5 p.m. until time of service. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation also to be held from 2-4 pm Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Jordans Grove Baptist Church (Central City, IA) with a Memorial Service to follow at 4pm.
