Howard A. “Howie” Kramp, 85, of Rockford, went to meet our lord and savior Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was born January 2, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Isabella (Goodwing) and Earl Kramp. Howie proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart. He married the love of his life, Ida Prezioso, February 27, 1953. Howie worked as a carpenter and then in maintenance for the County of Winnebago. He was a role model and great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Howie was a giving man and always there to help. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed trips with Ida to Florida and Arizona. Howie was a member of the LLL Club and Carpenter’s Union, Local 792. Above all Howie loved the time he spent with his family.
Survived by his loving wife, Ida; children, Bona Kramp, Gary (Jane) Kramp and Sheila Kramp; grandchildren, George Andrews IV, Travis Andrews, Nicholas Kramp, Nathan Kramp, David Kramp and Cyan Kramp; great grandchildren, George Will Andrews V; daughter-in-law, Carrie Kramp; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; son, George Kramp and brother, William.
A celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date. Cremation rites accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family for a cause to be determined.
