Horacio Olvera Pedroza

Horacio Olvera Pedroza, 58, passed away surrounded by family on December 5, 2020. Born on February 20, 1962 in Tonatico, Mexico son to Felix and Julia (Pedroza) Olvera. When he was sixteen he migrated to the United States and immediately found work that he loved, landscaping. He worked for D. Hill Nursery for over 25 years, also working at Covers Nursery and Landscaping before creating his own business, A. and O. Landscaping in 2013. He married the love of his life, Tammy Frazer on April 30, 1982 and had four children. Once they were old enough he found his next big passion, teaching soccer; he has taught at International Soccer League of Rockford sense his children were little. Horacio was a people person, he loved making friends and looked forward to spending time with them, especially the New Year’s party that he’s hosted for over 20 years. Most of all, he was a proud family man.

He will be missed by those who loved him most, his wife of 38 years, Tammy; his children Julia (Jamie) Zamarripa, Michael Olvera, April (Alex) Estrada, and Laticia (Benjamin) Camargo; his grandchildren Karina, Claudia and Ismael Zamarripa, Anastasia, Michael Jr., Gustavo and Ivan Olvera. Horacio will be joining in heaven his granddaughter, Sophia Camargo; his parents and mother in law Nancy Beltran; his brothers Ismael, Renulfo and Carmelo Olvera.

A walk through visitation for Horacio will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois, 61108. Masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help send Horacio home to Mexico at a later date.
