nbsp; Hiram F. Hooks Loveland, 83, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in P. A. Peterson Center for Health.nbsp; He was born March 9, 1927, in Monticello, Minnesota, the son of Hiram and Catherine (Balzer) Loveland.nbsp; Hiram married Barbara Wood in Rockford on June 8, 1991.nbsp; He worked for Cascade Metals in San Jose, California for many years.nbsp; He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy.nbsp; Hiram loved to sing and was known for his beautiful baritone voice and Sinatra style.nbsp; He was an avid golfer.nbsp; He was a member of the 1945 East High School Golf State champions.nbsp; During his life, he had 3 holes-in-one and a double eagle. He was a member of Ironworkers Local No.790.
Survived by his Rockford family including his wife, Barbara, her daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Johnson, and grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Johnson and Michael (Ashleigh) Johnson and great-granddaughter, Kayleigh; also survived by his children, Mick, David, Lynne, Sue, Sandy and Jim and his grandchildren and great grandchildren who live in California, Washington, and Maryland. The family thanks the staffs of P.A. Peterson Center for Health and Unity Hospice for their skilled and compassionate care during Hirams illness.
.Memorial service will be at 1:30 pm. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, in P.A. Peterson Center for Health, 1311 Parkview Av. Rockford, Il 61107 with Dr. Chuck Olson, Chaplain at P.A. Peterson Center for Health officiating. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, assisted the family.nbsp; Hirams wish was to be cremated with private family burial in Mt.
