Hester Juanita Swanson

January 13, 1930 — March 23, 2008

Hester Juanita ""Nita"" Swanson, 78, of Belvidere and formerly of Rockford, died Sunday, March 23, 2008 after a short illness. Born and raised in Quincy, IL and came to Rockford after marriage. Employed for many years at Atwood Vacuum until her retirement. Juanita was a chaperon for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed bowling and participated in many leagues. Memberships include Salem Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club. Nita had recently moved to Pearl Place Senior Apts in Belvidere where she met many great and caring people. Survivors include her children, Carol (Rick) Plantz, Richard (Sharon) Hudnut and Michael (Renee) Hudnut; step daughters, Carol Jenkins and Cathy Swanson; grandchildren, James (Julie) Plantz, Tim Hudnut, Tarah (Christopher) Smith, Mike (Jennifer) Hudnut, Byron (Kim) Hudnut, Melissa (Andy) Daggett, Robert Hudnut Brandy Armstrong, Kelly (Kevin) Bauer, Debbie Jenkins, Danny Allen and Tanya Strawbridge, Jayne (Monty) Kenny and James (Michelle) Dunbar; numerous great grandchildren; sister Carroll Van Velkenberg; sister-in-law, Rosemary Swanson and her beloved dog, Milo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mary Jane Williams; her husband, Richard Swanson; brothers, Winston, Roland and Jerry Williams. Memorial service to be held on Friday, March 28, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 1629 S. 6th St. Rockford with Dale Johnson officiating. Inurnment in Willwood Burial Park at a later date. To
