Herman T. Long

Herman T. Long, 95, of Rockford, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was born May 7, 1925 in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Herman E. and Agnes (Tillquist) Long. He married Juanita Mansfield on January 8, 1946. She predeceased him on June 5, 1998. Herman was employed by Dean Foods for over 30 years. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survived by his children, Tom (Melanie Williams) Long, John Long, Lisa (Chip) Gutzwiller; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Gutzwiller, Christopher (Jamie) Long; great grandchild, Jeremiah Long; brother, John E. (Pat) Long of Hannibal, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his parents; brother, Francis Long and sister, Agnes Moore. The family would like to thank the staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and Dr. Edison Lim for their care and compassion.
Private graveside services will be held at Scandinavian Cemetery. Cremation rites accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, 5666 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61107.
