Henry E. Johnson

Henry E. Johnson, 71, passed away in his home on August 17, 2022 and is now one of God's Precious Angels. Born in Rockford, Illinois on March 20, 1951 son to Hilmer and Mildred (Grabania) Johnson. At a young age Henry began accordion lessons per his parents request and disliked every second of it.😁 Due to those lessons, however, he did find that he really did enjoy creating and playing music. This was the start to his musician’s life. He taught himself how to play the guitar, the piano and organ, and he found that he enjoyed singing. He worked with numerous bands in the local Rockford area and enjoyed his life. Henry was a 'gentle soul' and could always make you Smile.

He is survived by his siblings Jackie Johnson and Tim (Cindie) Johnson; nephew Tim Johnson and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles. A very special blessing to Henry’s best friend Rick Warner for the care, love, and compassion that Rick showed through Henry’s life and final days.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Peter Cathedral, 1243 N. Church Street, Rockford, IL 61103.
