Helen V. Hasenyager

November 10, 1939 — March 8, 2013

Helen V. Hasenyager, 73 of Rockford died Friday, March 08, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family. Born November 20, 1939 in Rockford, the daughter of Charles W. and Virginia (Stake) Hart. Married her loving husband Dennis Hasenyager on Dec. 24, 1994. Helen worked as a material handler for several years at Warner Lambert before her retirement. A faithful member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister , volunteered in the Adoration Chapel and was a member of the outreach group. She was an awesome gardener with a true green thumb, a wonderful baker and a bird collector. She was always sure to find a bargain and loved to travel and put her feet in the sand. Her ever growing family was also a big part of her life and she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was a charismatic, fun and beautiful person, she will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to VNA Hospice for all of their wonderful and compassionate care.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Hasenyager; children, Anthony (Kim) Brough, Kathy (Tom) Kruzick, Timothy (Jean) Brough, James (Donna) Brough,Corey Brough; step children, Jacquline Fluaitt and Johnna Bush and Jeremy Bush; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Cartozza and Patricia Baker; brother, Michael Hart; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Pat Zawlocki, Vicki Vincer, Dave and Patricia O'Brien. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Hart.
Funeral Mass Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Visitation Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. and will continue on Tuesday in the Parish Hall from 10 a.m. until time of prayer at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Visiting Nurses Association.
