Helen Stephenson

Helen Stephenson, 83 Rockford Helen Stephenson, 83 of Rockford, formerly of Glen Ellyn for 30 years, died on May 1, 2007 in P.A. Peterson Home. She was born October 12, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of Demetrios "James" and Sophia (Giannopoulos) Stavropulos. Helen married Stephen "Steve" D. on September 7, 1950. She worked part-time for 15 years with the Glen Ellyn Park District Senior Program and also worked for Cry babies retail store in Glen Ellyn. Helen graduated from Austin High School in Chicago and was an avis White Sox fan. Helen is survived by her husband Stephen "Steve" D. Her children James (Diane) Stephenson of Indianapolis, IN; Karen Stephenson (Dr. Michael Kikta) of Rockford, Il and Alex Stephenson of Lisle, IL. Four grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew and Christine Stephenson and Michael Kikta. Her brother Alex (Dolores) Starr of Nashville, TN; her sister Christina Paulus of Bensenville, IL; her sister-in-law, Sophie Starr and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother George Starr. Funeral service will beheld at 11 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Rd.. Family and friends will meet for burial at Elmwood cemetery in River Grove at 2 PM. Visitation Saturday from 9AM until time of service.
