Helen Marie (Meehan) Lynde, 83, of Rockford, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rockford on September 9, 1926 to John and Florence (Kelly) Meehan, Helen went on to graduate from Muldoon High School and later worked as a secretary at Camp Grant. Helen married the love of her life, Joseph Lynde, on October 1 st , 1949 at St. Edwards Church, Rockford, where she was a life long member. Helens most challenging and proudest accomplishment was giving birth to eight sons and fostering an extended family environment where everyone knew her love was unconditional. Her family is forever grateful of the sacrifices she made to benefit the ones she loved. Helens legacy will continue to endure through the lives of her children and grandchildren. Helen is lovingly survived by her brother Jerome of Rockford, sons ; John (Lynne) Lynde of Rockford, Peter Lynde of Rockford, Thomas (Judy) Lynde of Rockton, Joseph (Beverly) Lynde of Rockford, Charles (Jennifer) Lynde of Rockford, Michael (Joy) Lynde of Rockford, James Lynde of Phoenix, grandchildren; Jody Lynde, Kelly (Ryan) Nestler, Christine (Dustin) Kowalski, Andrea Treadman, Brian Lynde, Bradley (Kelly) Lynde, Rachel (Borisz) Bascovics, Matthew Lynde, Jamie (Shawn) Hanson, Stephanie Lynde, Jordan Lynde, David Lynde, Aaron Lynde, Daniel Lynde, Zachary Lynde, Sarah Lynde, Megan Lynde, Joshua Lynde; great-grandchildren, Andrew Nestler, Tyler Lynde, Addison Hanson, Payton Treadman, Chloe Nestler, Baily Grace Lynde, Brianna Kowalski, Addison Treadman, Braydon Lynde, Caleb Lynde, Kaitlyn Lynde, Alex Kowalski, Rylan Hanson, Allison Lynde, Lily Nestler. Pre-deceased by her husband Joseph, infant son, parents John and Florence, and brother, John Richard Meehan.Funeral Mass, Monday Feb. 8, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2 nd St. Rockford, with Rev. Jerome Koutnik officiating. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a Rosary service to be recited at 4:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday in church from 9:00-9:45 A.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at a later date.
