Helen M. “Honey” Tooley, 90, of Rockford, passed away March 11, 2018 in her home. Born October 16, 1927 in Rockford, the daughter of Frank & Helen (Fackel) Lange. Graduated from Muldoon High School, class of 1946. Married James W. Tooley in Rockford at St. James Church on Feb. 4, 1950. Honey was able to travel the world with James while he was in the Navy. She worked in the Camera Department at Osco Drug for 28 years, retiring in 1995. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Women’s Guild for many years. Later she attended St. Mark Lutheran Church. Honey was part of the Atwood Ladies Golf, where she enjoyed playing and being with her friends. Both Honey and James were avid cross country skiers. Helen will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include husband, James; son David W. (Kathy) Tooley of Libertyville, IL; grandsons Matthew (Kelley) and their son Forrest, Josh (Sarah) Tooley and Chris (girlfriend Linda) Tooley; sister Fran Dugar; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; sister Kay Schlehuber; brothers in law, Bob Schlehuber and Al Dugar.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation from 10 a.m. until of service.
