Helen L. Jarmotz

Helen L. Jarmotz, 96, of Rockford, formerly of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born in Roseau, Minnesota on March 23, 1917, the daughter of Jonas and Anna (Isaackson) Blom. Helen graduated from the nursing program at the University of Minnesota. She married John Jarmotz in 1940. They were married for 61 years until John preceded her in death in 2001.Helen worked at various hospitals for several years as a registered nurse. She loved playing slot machines and gambling at various casinos. Helen was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking. She was passionate about knitting, playing cards and attended the Kentucky Derby every year. Helen also cherished the times she spent pontoon boating at Indian Lake in Michigan and in Clearwater/ St. Petersburg, Florida.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Joan Pigg of Kettering, OH; grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda) Wedwick, Steven (Anna) Wedwick, David (GiGi) Wedwick, Sara (Barry) Macdonald, Kevin(Danielle) Thompson, Mike (Ginger) Thompson, Chrissy (Eric) Schmitt, Darren Schmitt, Connie (Roger) Stambaugh and Kim (Mike) Peavy; 16 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; husband, John Jarmotz; daughters, Karen Maness and Shirley Cerutti; grandson, Matthew.
