Helen B. (Harbour) Cole, 93, of Rockford passed away at 2:20 am on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in Neighbors Nursing Home. Born November 24, 1913 in Girard, IL; the daughter of Elisha and Mellie (Barnes) Harbour. Married Bert F. Cole on November 25, 1930, he predeceased her in 1975. Helen was the office manager at L.B. Price Mercantile Company for over 30 years and later worked as a switchboard operator at the Albert Pick Motel and the Dolphin Bath House as a clerk. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was active in Food Pantry and former member of Altar and Rosary. Also, past member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she and her husband were active in many areas. Survivors include her daughter, Mary C. (Marwood) Allen; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews including special nephew, William (Sharon) Cole and their family of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Shirley Cole and brother-in-law, George Haack. Predeceased by parents, husband, sons, Robert and Richard; daughter, Barbara Haack and granddaughter, Penny. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Thomas Bartolomeo officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 on Friday evening with a vigil service at 6:45 pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2Nd. St, Rockford, IL 61107 or Neighbors Nursing Home, 811 W. 2nd. St., Byron Il, 61010.
