Harvie F. Rodgers, 93, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014. He was born in Atkins Arkansas on June 2, 1920; the son of Joe and Liza (Guest) Rodgers. Harvie married Rose Lucido in Rockford on November 27, 1947. He was a proud US Veteran serving his country in the Tankers 10th Armored Infantry of the 3rd Army of Gen. George S. Patton. Harvie worked for 32 years at Elco Industries before retiring in 1985 and for 20 years delivering parts for Tietz-Lynde Auto Parts until 2003. Harvie enjoyed fishing and cherished the time he spent golfing with his grandson. He was a member of the Belvidere Moose Club, LLL Club, Svithoid Club, Jim Beam Bottle Collectors Club and Square Dance Club (Jaybos).
Harvie is survived by his daughter, Catherine (Jerry) Kindstrom; grandchildren, Dawn Kindstrom and David Kindstrom; great-grandson, Blake Kindstrom and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Rose; brothers, Jim, Orbe and Delbert; sister, Letha Davis.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 in St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at church.
