Harry Lee Powers, 87, of Franklin Grove died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. Born May 24, 1923 in Toccoa, GA the son of Arnold and Elsie (Cheek) Powers.nbsp; Served in the US 8 th Air Force during WWII as part of the B17 crew, flying missions over Germany. He then married his loving wife Theresa Colombo on August 30, 1952 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.nbsp; Worked fornbsp; Hamilton-Sundstrand, Rockford Tool and Die and Circle Boring and Machine,nbsp; as a jig borer operator, retiring in 1985. A member of Combat Flyers Club in Rockford and an avid Green Bay Packersnbsp; and Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed horse racing. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to KSB Hospital for their compassionate care. Survivors include his wife Theresa of Franklin Grove; son, Tom (Janice) Powers of Rockford; daughter, Carol (Kevin) Prunty of Amboy;nbsp; grandchildren, Michael Powers, Rachel (Jon) Cukjati and Mary Prunty; great grandchildren, Scarlet and Ember Cukjati; brother, J.M. Powers of CA; sisters, Sara Smith of GA and Orafaith (Bill) Hall of TN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Summerville.
