Harry “Jack” J. Pillmore, 79, passed away on March 31, 2021. He was born on November 19, 1941 in Fort Wayne, Indiana son to Harold and Elizabeth (Yarnelle) Pillmore. He met Gloria Shafer at the University of Iowa, and they wed in the family home off the river on March 21, 1964. Jack was a people person, he proudly owned two saloons in Rockford, the Rockview Tap and the Victory. After selling the saloons he went on his next journey, 35 years sober and continued meeting and helping so many other people. He also enjoyed spending time watching racehorses, even owning some for a time, golfing, and spending time with his brother watching their favorite team, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Jack was funny, had a very quick wit, and was loved by so many people.
He will be missed by those who loved him most, his wife Gloria; daughter Ellen (Dave) Kinzel and stepson Robert Jennings; his grandchildren Jacob and Daniel Hribal, Robert (Haley) Kinzel, and Landon Pillmore; his siblings Carolyn (Len) Adams, Thomas (Diann) Pillmore, and so many other family members; a special family member, Charlie the dog. He was predeceased by his son, Jason Pillmore, his parents and sister, Betty Paige Spohn.
