Harold S. Harry Carbine, Jr., 68 Harold S. Harry Carbine, Jr., 68 of Rockford for 58 years went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25 from his family residence. Born October 14, 1938 in Dixon, IL the son of Harold S. and Pearl (Bain) and Hazel (Olsen). Married Catherine (Harkness) On January 25, 1969 in Rockford. Harry had worked as a foreman for Colonial Bakery for 15 years until retiring in 1989. He also owned Carbines Carpet Cleaning for 40 years. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church for 20 years and was a very active member of the Verdi Club. He was and avid fisherman, Bears fan and Bulls fan and loved to play Bocci. Survivors include his wife, Catherine (Harkness his daughters, Michelle Missy Meyers and Kristine Krissy (Scott) Hamilton; His grandson Jordan Hamilton; his granddaughter Ashley Meyers; His sister Sandra (Rick) Schmalz; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his best friends Don Crosty and Rod Rhodes and his faithful campanion Mandi. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son James D. Stephens, his brother Richard Dick Carbine and his brother-in-law Willard Resh.
Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Church, 428 N. 2nd Street, Rockford with Rev. Dean Russell and Rev. David Beauvais officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. James Church.
