Giuseppe VaccarelloLoving Papa, Nonno, Cognato, Zio and CompareJanuary 21, 1927 August 15, 2010 Giuseppe went to be with our Lord and his beloved wife after a sudden illness. Born in Aragona, Sicily, to Salvatore and Giuseppa (Saieva) Vaccarello. Married the love of his life Concetta Russo on November 13, 1954 and was heart broken when she passed away in 2007.With love, courage and many struggles that were overcome, along with everlasting gratitude for his in-laws Frank & Anna Salamone, Mike & Assunta Salamone and friend Salvatore Lamendola, in 1971 he moved his family to America. He loved and cherished the moments he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. He had a love and passion for cooking, making wine, cubaita, and most of all gardening, which he enjoyed sharing the harvest with everyone, even strangers.Member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Survivors include children: Maria & Fidencio Perez, Teresa & Douglas Donahue, Rosalie & Bob England, Rita & Joseph Leon, Salvatrice & Rick Pigatti, Salvino (Sam) Vaccarello. Grandchildren: Matthew & Kristen England, Kristina England (Mike Houchin), Michael & Brianna Pigatti, and Samantha Vaccarello. Brother Rosario (Consiglia) Vaccarello; brother-in-law Frank Salamone and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.Predeceased by wife Concetta, parents Salvatore and Giuseppa Vaccarello, brothers Raimondo and Carmelo Vaccarello, sister Domenica Spoto, brothers-in-law Mike Salamone and Calogero Spoto, sisters-in-law Assunta and Anna Salamone & Giovanna Vaccarello. Special thanks to Dr. Rogers and his staff at Rockford Health Physicians, as well as the doctors and nurses at Rockford Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the compassionate and respectful care they gave him during his last days.Mass of Resurrection will be at 10am Friday August 20, 2010 in St Anthony of Padua Church with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday from 5pm until 7pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Road with rosary at 7pm. Visitation also on Friday from 9am until 9:45 in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
