Gretchen Christensen-Adams

Gretchen Christensen – Adams, 91, died September 22, 2017 at Wesley Willows Kirk’s Place under the care of Northern Illinois Hospice. Gretchen was born April 1, 1926, in Breklum, Germany to John and Margarethe Jansen. The family immigrated to America in 1929 and settled in Davenport, IA.

Gretchen is survived by three children: Richard (Linda) Christensen of Raleigh, NC, Sue (Ron) Miller of Fargo, ND, and Lori (Louis) Penzi of Whitefish, MT; five grandchildren: Leigh (Todd) Christensen-Hill, Betsy (Joe) Parker, Rachel (Grant Walker) Miller, Hilary (Robert) Headlee, and Samuel Penzi; and three great-grandchildren: Graham Headlee,
George Headlee, and Hazel Walker.

Gretchen is preceded in death by her parents, her older sister, Lottie Copley, and husband, John Adams.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 North Rockton Avenue.
