Grant F. Stardy

Grant F. Stardy, Jr., 57, Machesney Park, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1953, in Elgin, the son of Grant F. and Irmgard (Chapman) Stardy, Sr. Grant lived 7 years in Rockford, coming here from McHenry. He worked for Security Builders Supply for 6 years. Grant is a veteran of the Marine Corps. He loved the Cubs and the Bears, but was truly devoted to his children and grandchildren.Survived by his son, Grant F. (Angela) Stardy, III of Machesney Park; daughter, Kimberly J. Stardy of Rockford and their mother, Connie J. Stardy; grandchildren, Kristin J., Grant F. IV, and Garrett F. Stardy; sisters, Carol Dewis of Marengo, Darlene (Daryl) Blassy of McHenry, and Marsha (Ed) Thomas of McHenry; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd .
