Grace L. Cicero

February 21, 1928 — January 31, 2014

Grace L. Cicero, 85, of Rockford passed away peacefully on January 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on February 21, 1928; the daughter of Domenic and Anna (Palmieri) DiTomassi. Grace graduated from Rockford West High School Class of 1945. She married Joseph Cicero on June 11, 1955. She was employed at Joseph Behr and Sons prior to becoming a homemaker after marriage. Grace enjoyed spending time with her children and listening to music of her era. She always looked for a challenging crossword puzzle. Grace was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff at P.A. Peterson Center for Health, especially, nurses Nilie Wild and Pamela Shields for the compassionate care she received over the past several months.
Survivors include her sons, Robert (MaryAnn) and John (Debbie) Cicero; grandchildren, Kristina, Julianne, Joseph, Alyssa and Michael; sister, Rosemary Bianchi; brothers-in-law, Charles (Eilena) and Sam (Sally) Cicero; nephews, Thomas Bianchi and Peter Cicero and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph; parents, Domenic and Anna DiTomassi; in-laws, Peter and Maria Cicero and brother-in-law, Frank Bianchi.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St with Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. To extend condolences visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
