Goldie M. Levins, 91 Loved by all
Goldie Maureen Levins, 91, went to be with the Lord after a short illness on Monday, May 04, 2009 with her family by her side. Born December 25, 1917 in Rockford, daughter of Earl and Julia Betts. Married her loving husband of 50 years, Frank Levins on August 19, 1938. Employed as a CAN at St. Anthony Hospital and Barber Coleman Co and has been enjoying retirement for several years. Goldie enjoyed her family very much and loved taking care of all the babies. She is a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a very devout catholic. An avid Cubs fan who had many friends and loved everyone she met, always leaving them with fond and loving memories. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at Rockford Memorial Hospital and to Visiting Nurses Association for being so wonderful to her. Survivors include her children; Pamela (Terry) Stobart, Patricia Levins, Susan Rockwell and Michael (Terri) Levins all of Rockford; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who will always be in her heart with much love. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank in 1985, sons, Tom, Terry, and Tim Levins; grandchildren, Noah Stobart; daughter in law, Cathy Levins; former son-in-law, Charlie Rockwell; brothers, Earl, Deb, Walt and Wayne; sisters, Marguerite and Sister Julian Betts, OP. Funeral Mass, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St. Visitation Wednesday, May 6 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside chapel 3910 N.
