Gloria M. Torrisi, 92, passed away on November 25, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family. She was the daughter of Frank and Anna (Segalla) Pegnolone. She was born and lived all of her life in Rockford and graduated from West High School. On June 5, 1948 she married A. Daniel Torrisi and celebrated 69 years of marriage. She was employed at Illinois Bell and retired from A.T&T. after thirty years of service as an administrative assistant. She also worked as an administrative assistant at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine for 10 years. In addition, Gloria was a member of St. Bernadette's Church for 45 years, the American Catholic Woman's League and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Gloria lived, stressed and exemplified the importance of her faith to her family and her many friends including those at the Grand Victorian where she lived her later years. Gloria enjoyed traveling throughout her life, especially her frequent trips to Florida. She also was an avid reader.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Daniel (Cynthia) and James, as well as grandchildren Philip (Nicole), Ben (Erin), Alex, Elizabeth (Jon Kehoe), and great grandchildren Max, Eli, and Cecilia Kehoe. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister Carol Parrovechio and her precious daughter-in-law Vinni Torrisi.
Gloria's services will be private to her family, burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Winnebago, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clares, 2111 S.
