Glenn Underwood

GLENN UNDERWOOD, 80, Rockford, died at 4:45 P.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in Amberwood Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimers. Glenn was born May 12, 1926 in Bardwell, KY., son of Wilbur and Lavena Johnson Underwood. He graduated from Bardwell High School in 1943. Served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Worked for Chrysler Corp as a supervisor for more than 32 years. He was an avid bowler and loved fishing and hunting. Married Emma Ruth Turner on March 19, 1959. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Ruth; sons, Glenn A. (Suzanne) Underwood, Cherry Valley and Brett J. (Kristin) Underwood, Kaukauna, WI; daughter Kari L. (Don Hanson) Underwood, Rockford; grandchildren, Chris, Sara, Matthew, Jaime, Jakob and Bailey Underwood and Eddie and Allison Olson; great granddaughter, Emma Grace Underwood; sisters, Reba Hamilton, Clinton Township, MI and Betty Alexander, Whittier CA. and sister-in-law, Verdis Underwood, Livermore, CA. Predeceased by his parents, sister, Jean (Jim) Ramage and brother Forrest Underwood. Funeral service at 11A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Dan Qualls, First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 6-8 P.M. Friday and from 10A.M. until time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimerss Association or to First Assembly of God Church.
