Glenn Meyers, 68, of Rockford passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 in his home. Born to Melbourne and Stella (Bozym) Meyers on July 24, 1941, he attended Rockford parochial and public schools. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963, he became employed at Rockford Screw Products as a machine operator and retired after 46 years of service in June, 2009. Glenn married Judi Copp on March 13, 1965. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the Holy Name Society and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the St. Stanislaus Choir. The pride and joy he had for his grandchildren, love of the guitar, admiration he had for John Denver and his music was very well known to anyone who knew him. He was also an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his wife Judi; sons Jeff (Julie) Meyers of Riverdale, IA; Greg (Kathy) Meyers of Rockton; mother Stella Meyers of Rockford; Grandchildren Quintin, Ashley, Cora, Lilly, Abby and Anne; brothers Tom Meyers of Rockford; Mark (Cecilia) Meyers of Roscoe; Phillip Meyers of Loves Park; David (Karen) Meyers of Mount Clemens, MI; Chuck Meyers of Rockton; sisters Marlene (Dixon) Smith of Dunnellon, FL; Barbara (Steve) Eckelberg of Manitowoc, WI; special brother-in-laws David Copp of Rockford; Steve (Judi) Copp of Dousman, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Melbourne and his brothers Edward and Steven. A Special Thank You to Dr. Edwards, Jeannie and the nurses who administered treatment at ACT Medical Group along with Rebecca, Terri and Frankie at Northern Illinois Hospice for their professionalism and gentle caring for Glenn.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 201 Buckbee in Rockford, IL 61104, with the Rev. Peter Sarnicki officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103. There will be a visitation at St. Stanislaus from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday with Mass following. Interment to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
