Glen W. Patrick

Belvidere- Glen W. Patrick, 91, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home in Oregon. Born November 30, 1917 in Siam, Iowa the son of Charles B. and Lyda Margaret (Sifford) Patrick. Married his loving wife Esther Sinnard and was the Co-owner of Sinnard and Patrick Construction. He semi-retired in 1981 and began working on Free Methodist churches in the Iowa Conference. Glen enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading. He was an avid family volunteer, always helping out with handyman projects or building a home with his sons. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to OSF Cancer Center, OSF St. Anthony 4 west and Ogle County Hospice. Survivors include his children, Lloyd (Kathy) of Urbandale, Iowa, Virginia Patrick of Belvidere and Bruce (Cherie) of Hanover Park; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Patrick of New Lenox; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, sisters, Lema Demmel of Kent, WA and Aimee (Bud) Scheir of Des Moines, Iowa, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Esther in 2001, son, David in 2008 and brother, Foy. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Free Methodist Church, 5850 E. Riverside Blvd. Loves Park with Pastor Paul Bundschuh officiating. Inurnment to be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home, 1685 S. IL. RT. 2 Oregon, IL 61061.
