Glen R. Brentner

June 17, 1934 — July 11, 2021

Glen R. Brentner, 87, of Rockton, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021. He was born June 17, 1934 in Rockford, to H. Everett and Leatha (Bridges) Brentner. Glen graduated from East High School and retired after many years as an officer for the Rockford Police Department.

Glen enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and watching the White Sox. He read the Chicago Tribune and completed the crossword puzzle daily. He was a caring father and grandfather. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and active member of the Christian Science Church.

He is survived by his wife Rose; son Glen; daughters Debi (Dave) Rushlow, Elizabeth Brentner, and Gretchen (Brian) Egner; stepson Craig (Tenee) Angelo; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Norma Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Sandra Welte as well as his sisters Kay Sward and Mary Hoffman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amin and the compassionate nursing staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for their care.

Per his wishes, no funeral services will be planned; private burial at Willwood Cemetery.
