Gladys L. Olszewski

Gladys L. Olszewski, 94, of Rockford died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born January 13, 1922 the daughter of Stanley and Victoria (Gunseor) Zovitowski and attended Rock River School. Married her loving husband, Leo L. Olszewski in Chicago on June 19, 1943. Gladys was a faithful member of St. Edward Catholic Church and was happy to raise her two sons and take time to enjoy their families as they got older. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home for taking such excellent care of Gladys these past weeks.
Survivors include her sons, Terry (Rose) of Rockford and Gary (Sharon) of Rochelle, grandchildren, Holly (Martin) Woessner, Robbie (Brittany) Olszewski and Katie Carmichael; great grandchildren, Zahra, Addison and Grayson Woessner, Jackson and Paul Olszewski, Natalie LaLoggia and Kayleigh Carmichael and sister, Virginia Kinart of Elkhart, TX. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral Mass Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St, Rockford. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation, Thursday, April 28 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Black Madonna Shrine, 100 St Joseph’s Hill Rd, Pacific, MO 63069.
