Gladys L. Aschim, 90LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER Gladys L. Aschim, 90, Rockford, died Friday, June 19, 2009, in Provena St. Anne Center.  She was born December 22, 1918, in Eskridge, KS.  Gladys married Robert L. Aschim in Topeka, KS on February 24, 1946. He predeceased her April 6, 1998, in Rockford.  She was employed at Modern Suspension Systems for 25 years as a bookkeeper. She is a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  Gladys was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing, fishing, and gardening.  She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by her daughters, Jan (Bob) Mackey of Rockford and Dee (Ed) Wilson of Belleville; grandchildren, Tim and Christy Mackey and Jeff and Anne Wilson; great grandchildren, Tyler and Riley Mackey; brother, Mellville (Dorothy) Mudge, Lakewood, CO;  sisters-in-laws, Dee, Rachael and Jean Aschim; brother-in-law, Don (Iris) Aschim; many nieces, nephews and special friends.  Predeceased by husband, Bob; parents; brother, Clifton Mudge and his wife, Lucille; and brothers-in-law, Ted, Ken, and Dean Aschim. Memorial service 6:30PM, Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Lee Laaveg officiating.  Visitation from 5:30PM until time of service at the funeral home. Private family burial in Arlington Memorial Park.  Memorials to VNA Hospice, 4223 E.
