Gladys Belle "Sally" Mcardle

Gladys Belle "Sally" (Richardson) McArdle, 91, of Floosmoor , died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of William J. and Edith W. (Hopkins) Richardson. Married her loving husband, Burton J. McArdle, on November 9, 1941 in Chicago. Sally was an artist, specializing in water color landscape paintings. In the 1960's Sally dabbled in hair dressing for some time. She had an eye for interior decorating and spent many hours scouring the racks for Flair Interiors during the 70's and 80's at the Merchandise Mart looking for that perfect piece. She was a kind, caring, and visual woman whose contagious smile will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Renee Anne McArdle, Psy.D. and Cheryl Lynn McArdle (Mark Culhane); 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2010; her son-in-law, Rev. Frank S. Moyer on July 30, 2014; her bothers, Elmer, Aurthur and Selby and sisters, Edith, Mable and Helen.
A traditional Irish wake for family and friends was held August 23 at the home of her daughter Renee, with assistance of Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Cremation rites were accorded. To express online condolences please visit www. Fitzgeraldfh.com
