Gertrude E. Kobischka

Gertrude Gert E. Kobischka, 86 of Rockford, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 in her home. Born May 1, 1921 in Fairchild, WI, the daughter of Stener George and Harriett Agnes (McCauley) Johnson. Married her loving husband Clifford Kip G. Kobischka on December 24, 1940. Gert was a member of The Cathedral of St. Peter. She enjoyed animals, playing the organ, shopping and dancing the polka. Her family will especially miss her crazy sense of humor. A special thank you to Tamara and all of the Heartland Hospice Staff. nbsp;Survivors include her daughter, Jeanne (Gary) Sutherland of Rockford; son-in-law, Bob McDanel; grandchildren, Dawn (Tracey) Martin, Dana (Jeff) Hood, Todd (Tammy) McDanel, Andrea (Gary) Ehrhardt, Tracy (Joel) Klitz and Monica Sutherland; great grandchildren, Melissa, Chris, Sydney, Brianna, Andrew, Ryan, Caitlin, Alexandra, Jacob, Samuel, Clifford and Sarah; great great-grandchild Elijah. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Clifford on April 29, 2006; daughter, Judi A. McDanel and sister, Dorothy Johnson. nbsp; Funeral mass Tuesday,nbsp; March 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St.. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Monday, March 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave with a rosary service to be recited at 7 p.m..
