Geraldine T. Guarino

Geraldine T. Guarino, 97, of Rockford, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

She was born in Beckley, West Virginia on December 29, 1924, daughter of Orsario and Crucifix (Amelia) Salamone. She married Sam J. Guarino on June 1, 1946 in Rockford. Geraldine worked at Barber Colman for 8 years and later worked the night shift at Sam’s Pizza. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Geraldine enjoyed watching golf on television, cooking and gardening. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones. Geraldine will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her 3 sons, James Guarino, Joseph (Charlene) Guarino and David Guarino; granddaughter, Samantha Guarino; sister, Angelina Falkowski; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Scott), Diane, Kathy, Michelle (Harold) and Patty (Rich) and numerous other nieces, nephews and in-laws. Geraldine is predeceased by her parents; husband, Sam; sisters, Rose (Dick) Sanner and Phyllis (Philip) Salamone.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Entombment will conclude in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made in Geraldine's name to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
