GERALD RAY STANLEY, 63 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND BROTHER Gerald Ray Stanley, 63, Rockford, died at 12:05 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born June 11, 1944 in Paris, TN., son of Earl and Artie Carpenter Stanley. Married Sheri J. Prenot in Rockford on November 2, 1968. He was a self-employed painter. Member of Victory Life Fellowship Church. Gerald had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on for a joke. He never met a stranger. He thoroughly enjoyed being with people and most of all, dearly loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Sheri; son, Alan (Sandra) Stanley; daughters, Renee Wilson and Emily (Mike) Drevs; granddaughters, Grace Wilson and Aurora Drevs all of Rockford; his brothers and sisters, Everett (Janice) Stanley, Clyde (Erika) Stanley, Fred (Toni) Stanley, Charles (Linda) Stanley, Mary (Carl) Morgan, Jimmy Stanley, Owen (Sue) Stanley and Cindy (Ron) Marino; mother-in-law, Jane Prenot. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, daughter, Lesa K. Stanley; father-in-law, Ralph (Ike) Prenot and brother-in-law, Paul A. Prenot. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Charlie Brown officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Friday.
