Gerald "Jerry" L. Schmaling

Gerald “Jerry” LeRoy Schmaling, 85, of Loves Park, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born July 23, 1936, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Mary (Krueger) Schmaling. He married Marianne Sacco on October 27, 1972. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Jerry was a tool maker at Amrock. He was a member of the Corvette Club and the Venetian Club. He loved spending time with his great niece and nephews.

Jerry is survived by his sisters, Sandi Kunz, Arlene Ward, and Sally Carter; sister-in-law, Roseann Canova; niece, Kim (Paul) Canova Ancona; Nephews, Joe Canova and Johnny (Brianne) Canova; great niece, Morgan Canova; and great nephews, Dominic Canova and Philip Canova. He is predeceased by his parents, and wife, Marianne.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will be in St. Mary/ St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please share condolences online at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
