Gerald "Jerry" J. Pearson

Gerald "Jerry" J. Pearson, 79, passed away in Rockton, Illinois, on October 13, 2023. Born August 4, 1944 in Springfield IL, son to Carl and Clara (Walz) Pearson. Jerry received his engineering degrees from Marquette University (Milwaukee) and University of Wisconsin (Madison). He spent his career of 30 years at Woodward Governor in Loves Park, IL. He married his wife Susan in 1968 and they shared 52 years of marriage before her passing in August of 2020.

Jerry enjoyed sports and all things outdoors including gardening, golf, and fishing.

Jerry is survived by his daughter Dr. Anne (Rich Van Sickle) Pearson; his grandchildren Zachary and Jenna Van Sickle; his sister, Linda M Fuehne and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Susan K. Pearson; his parents and his brother, James C. Pearson.

The family is sincerely appreciative of the care and compassion provided by the staff at Highview in the Woodlands and Northern Illinois Hospice.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service, 10:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Burial and Interment of Susan Pearson to follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
