Gerald "Jerry" Boland

Gerald “Jerry” Boland, 82, of Freeport, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Avantara Long Grove. He was born on May 31, 1934 in Freeport, the son of Charles and Eileen(Hoffman) Boland. He graduated from Aquin Catholic High School and later joined the United States Navy. Jerry lived in Florida for many years until moving back to Illinois.

He is survived by his sisters, Joan (Clyde) Farrow of Mt. Prospect, IL and Margaret Walton of Diamondhead, MS; sister in-law, Phyllis Boland of Peoria, IL; and many nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly. Predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Tom and Richard Boland, sisters in-law, Carol and Lois Boland, and brother in-law, Terry Walton.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Freeport. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
