Gerald H. Jerry Johnson, 76, Rockford, died at 12:15 a.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Rosewood Care Center.nbsp; Born January 22, 1934 in Chisago County, MN, son of Harry R. Johnson and Mildred Johnson Adolphson.nbsp; Graduated from East High School in 1952 and was anbsp; veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Member of St. Rita Catholic Church and he worked at Sundstrand for 39 years. Jerry was a supporter of the whooping cranes and was a faithful follower of their migration. He was a jokester and always fun to be with.nbsp; Above all else, his family was the most important thing to him and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; children, Jeffrey Johnson, N.Y.C., Kevin Johnson, Rockford, Karen (Tony) Belman, Rockford, Thomas (MarChelle) Johnson, Rockford, Marianne (Timothy) Niedermeier, Rockford and William (Kerry) Johnson, Moline; grandchildren, Eric, Andrea, Adam, Joel, Gabby, Jonah, Emily, Adian and Noah.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents and brothers, Harvey and David.

Mass of Celebration at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 in St. Rita Catholic Church withnbsp;Monsignor Gerald Kobbeman officiating.nbsp; Burial in Calvary Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
