Georgia (Arnett) DeRocher, 68, of Rockford passed away from kidney disease complications on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born December 30, 1945, in Belvidere, the daughter of George and Beryl “Peg” Arnett. She married Don DeRocher on May 4, 1968. Georgia graduated from North Boone High School in 1963. She went to work at Barber-Colman and continued on to SMSA until she retired in 2011. Georgia had a love for quilting and sewing but most of all her grandkids.
Survived by her husband, Don; children, Danielle (Ryan) Aseltine of Sugar Grove, Sean DeRocher and Kelly (Brandon) Cash; grandkids, Lauryn, Jacob, Preston, Ashlyn and Luke; mother, Peg Arnett; siblings, Robert Arnett and Connie (Jim) Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father, George Arnett, brothers, Dan Arnett and Dale Arnett and niece, Alexis Arnett.
Memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund, related to Polycystic Kidney Disease, to be established in Georgia’s name at a later date.
