George Washington Dye, 84
Rockford - George Washington Dye, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his home with his loving family surrounded by him. Born December 8, 1930 in Hilly, Louisiana, the son of Hosea and Daisy (Pilgreen) Dye. He moved to Rockford at the age of 17. Served in the United States Navy. Worked as a buffer and chemical storage at Amerock for over 40 years retiring in 1990. George married the love of his life Angelina Fiorenza on July 27, 1957 in Rockford. She predeceased him May 27, 1995. George enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and going out to eat with family and friends. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include daughters Natalie (Steve) Scibona, Theresa (Owen) Eaton, Mary (Mike) Walsh; grandchildren John (Nicole) Eaton, Jack Eaton, Rebecca (Trevor) Seivert, Stephanie Scibona, and Joseph Walsh; two great-granddaughter's Hattie Eaton and Abigail Seivert; numerous nieces nephews. Predeceased by parents and wife.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 5, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 3910 North Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL, with burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
