George P. Milne Iii

George P. Milne III, 89, passed away on February 8, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1933, in Oak Park, IL, the son of George P. and Thelma (Rowe) Milne Jr.

Following graduation from Rockford High School and service in the U.S. Army, George continued his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver and earning an MBA from Northwestern University. George retired from AT&T after a 40-year career in their Accounting Department. In his spare time, George was an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking to craft heirloom-quality furniture, and his love of travel brought him to Hawaii, Alaska, Great Britain, driving journeys throughout the States and countless golf trips with friends. George also had a soft spot in his heart for dogs and will be missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise (née Lani); sons, Mark (Lillianna) Milne and Craig (Rita) Milne; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Alexander Milne; a sister, Regina Olson; nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, LaVerne Lani.
