George L. Westbrook

April 22, 1933 — May 25, 2008

New Milford - George L. Westbrook ,75, passed away Sunday May 25, 2008 at St. Anthony Hospital after a long illness. Born April 22, 1933 son of George and Mae (Bard) Westbrook. Lifelong resident of Rockford. Graduated from East High School, and served as a civil engineer in the United States Army. Married to Lucille R. Blair on January 15, 1955.  Member of the Local 150 I.U.O.E. for 50 years, retiring from Rockford Blacktop after more than 40 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife, Lucille of 53 years and their 5 children; Gerald (Patricia) Westbrook, Mae (Gregory) Klossner, Ruth (Milton) Hearyman, George Jr. (Lisa) Westbrook, Bonnie (Rick) Larkins, and 15 wonderful grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and Grandmother Anna (Walters) Westbrook Thomas.   Funeral service Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Megan Smick of New Milford United Methodist Church officiating. Interment in New Milford Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, May 28 from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home, to continue Thursday, from 12-12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to: Illinois Disabled American Veterans Association, Rockford Vet Center Out Station 0420, 4960 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61108.
