George L. Prezioso

George L. Prezioso, 80, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at SwedishAmerican Hospital with his family by his side. Born February 4, 1938, in Rockford, the son of Nick and Helen Prezioso. George was a graduate of East High in 1956. George met Marlene Swenson on a blind date and they were later married on April 25, 1959. George retired from JL Clark on September 9, 1999, after 47 years of service. George always had a love for sports. Playing football and baseball in high school, industrial league basketball while working at JL Clark and golf in the later years of his life. Some of George's key athletic highlights are hitting a pitch from Eddie "The King" Feigner, being invited to the St. Louis Cardinals Training Camp and scored a hole-in-one. Along with his loved of sports, George was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. George enjoyed traveling with Marlene and spending winters in Lake Havasu. George loved practical jokes and spending time with family and friends. George was a member of the LLL Club and Zion Lutheran Church. Loved and survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Kim (Tim) Prezioso-Smith and Todd (Corine) Prezioso; siblings, Chuck (Lou) Prezioso and Ida (Howie) Kramp and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Nick and Helen, step-father, Angelo Barconi, siblings, Nick (Frances) Prezioso and Helen Marie (Pat) Fleming and nephews, George Kramp , Steve Prezioso.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
