GEORGE KNIGHT, 75

MACHESNEY PARK - George Knight, 75, of Machesney Park, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. George was born September 19, 1938, in Trenary, Michigan to George I. and Lillian (Wright) Knight. Married the love of his life, Mary Jean (Jorgenson) Knight on December 31, 1958, in Oregon, Wisconsin. George was a tool designer at Rockford Products, where he was employed for 47 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the North Park Fire Department for 21 years and a Lodge Mason since 1980. George enjoyed traveling, woodworking and most especially watching his grandchildren and great- grandchildren compete in various sports. George had a passion for collecting Eagles, enamored with their grace and beauty. George is survived by his wife, Mary Jean (Jorgenson); children, Debbie (Randy) Huckabee, Bonnie (Fred) Cook and Janice (Craig) Fish; brother, William Knight; sister, Betty (Charles) Wescott of Arizona; grandchildren, Scott, Tim and Michelle Huckabee, Allen, Jeremy and Aaron Fish; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Makenna and Jaxson Huckabee; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rev. Randy Young officiating.
