George H. Sharpe George H. Sharpe, 56, of Rockford, died on October 20, 2007 at University of Wisconsin Medical Center in Madison. George was born February 15, 1951 the son of George E. and Mary A. (Tenaglia) Sharpe. George moved from Milwaukee to Rockford in 1975 and married Tammy Hughes at St. Edward Catholic Church on July 13, 1991. George was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of Viet Nam. George had worked as a tool and parts clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at the Harrison Street location until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and the American Postal Workers Union. George loved fishing, camping, being outdoors and was a Green Bay Packers fan.. George is survived by his wife Tammy; his father, George E. Sharpe; his step-son, David Lewis; his step-daughters, Hannah and Bethany Lewis; his sister, Linda (William) OConnor; his brother, Edward (Jill) Sharpe; his niece, Rebecca Sharpe; his nephews, Daniel Sharpe, Christopher (Katy) OConnor and Timothy OConnor; his great nephews, Ryan, Austin and David OConnor; his longtime friends, Lawrence "Mort" Morton and Michelle "Shelly" Bearder; his precious God-daughter, Raeanne "Poopers" Bearder; his special companions, Precious, Honey and Twobear and numerous relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and his son, Joshua. A Solemn Funeral Mass will be offered by Fr. Nicholas Federspiel at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th Street in Rockford. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary/St.James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
