George Edwin Eychaner, 73, of Rockford, died at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born July 29, 1934 in Esmond, IL, the son of Floyd and Margaret (Fogle) Eychaner. George had lived in Rockford since 1986, coming here from Waterman, IL. He married Jane Ohlinger on October 5, 1957 in Esmond, IL. George worked for DeKalb Pfizer Genetics in Waterman, IL for 30 years prior to becoming a Real Estate Broker in the Rockford area for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in England, in the 801st Engineer Aviation Battalion. George was a past member of the Moose club and an active member for over 45 years in a card club. George is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Roger Edwin Eychaner (partner, Martin Spencer) of Machesney Park and Jeffrey Mark (Cindee) Eychaner of Anchorage, AK; grandson, Alex Edwin Eychaner; granddaughter, Catherine Elise Eychaner; one step grandson; God child, Carol Dummer; sister, Alice (Don) Saari of DeKalb; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Eychaner of Roscoe; sister-in-law, Marilyn Eychaner of Esmond; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Raymond Eychaner. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with the Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr, Sr. officiating. There will be a visitation from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be at Greenview Cemetery in Esmond, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family with a memorial fund to be established at a later date. To
