Machesney Park George E. Sicotte, 79 of Machesney Park died Friday, December 25, 2009 at 8:31 a.m. at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 21, 1930 in Manville, RI to Lucien and Lydia (Riendeau) Sicotte. Graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1948. George served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Worked as a Warehouse Manager for Lorden Distributors. George was an Avid golfer, listed as the Giant Killer in the Rockford Newspaper the summer of 1957. He was runner-up in the City of Rockford City Tournament after 19 holes during the Championship. George was a caring and compassionate man who loved his family very much. George and Jean visited the village of Medjugarjie (at that time it was Yugoslavia) six times.



Survivors include; Wife, Jean; Sons, Thomas (Chris) Sicotte, James (Libby) Clark; Daughter Linda (Gene) Paton; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Brothers Albert (Marlyn) Sicotte and Paul (Joanne) Sicotte; Sisters Diane Didier and Jeannine (Stephen) King; Sister-in-Law Marion Sicotte and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Charles and Lucien (Lon) Sicotte.



Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Mary St. James Cemetery. Visitation Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until 09:45 a.m. at St. Bridget Church. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Bridget Church or Poor Clares Corpus Christy Monastery. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
