Geneldia ""Jean"" Brooks, 80, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born March 12, 1928 in Doniphan, MO, daughter of Raleigh and Ollie Cates Creason. Married Van B. Brooks in Pocahontas, AR on May 31, 1947. Rockford resident for the past 61 years. Charter member of Rockford United General Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She had an incredible knowledge of the Bible and had an amazing, clear singing voice. Survivors include her children, Ronald Brooks and Karen Brooks, both of Rockford, Mary Lou (Steve) Cacciatore, Key Largo, FL and Debra Brooks, Rockford; grandchildren, Christopher Michael Cacciatore and Carly (Michael) Williamson; great-grandchildren, Devin and Hayley Williamson. Also survived by her sisters, Lucille Cavenar, Jonesboro, AR, and Eulah Carner, Doniphan, MO; sister-in-law, Lena Creason, Warm Springs, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband on October 13, 2001, her parents, brothers, Dewey (Ellen), R.H., Raymond and Ralph (Ruby) Creason. Jeans family would like to thank the P.A. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Rockford United General Baptist Church, 3126 Marshall, with Rev. Dr. Danny Mercer officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation at the church on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the family.
