Gasper T. Lucido, Jr.

Gasper T. Lucido, Jr., 76, of Rockford, IL passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born October 28, 1946, in Rockford, Il the son of Josephine (Gagliani) and Gasper T. Lucido, Sr. Gasper attended Rockford West High School, graduating in 1964. He went on to obtain is bachelor’s degree from Loras College. Gasper started teaching mathematics in the Rockford Public School District, first at Wilson Middle School from 1968 – 1988 and then at West Middle School from 1989 – 2001. Gasper also was involved in the gifted mathematics program offered in the school district. He was a creatively, brilliant man. Gasper always was there with a helping hand to those in need and a mentor to many. He cherished his garden and was meticulous in his planning and planting. Gasper also enjoyed fishing, archery, photography and trap shooting. Gasper will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Gasper is survived by his beloved brother, Michael (Mary) Lucido; nieces and nephews, Michael J. Lucido, Michelle (Scott) Sandau, and Megan (Stephan) Hesse; 6 great nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial of cremated remains at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gasper’s name to the American Cancer Society.
